Most of us call it self protection. We tell ourselves we are defending our honor, holding the line, making sure the record is accurate. But in this episode I go somewhere the article didn't — the part where I had to admit I was enjoying it. Not the pain. The role. We are talking about the Drama Triangle, emotional intensity as addiction, and the uncomfortable truth that some of these internal arguments are not protection at all. They are identity. And letting the trial adjourn means letting go of a version of yourself that has been running the case for a long time.
